roadside

Hi, and thanks for visiting our site

roadside are a 5 piece indie rock band from Plymouth, Devon, providing you with tunes to make you feel good! roadside were created by 5 Plymouth musicians, Sam Davey on vocals, Colin Dower on lead guitar and backing vocals, Duncan Leitch on rhythm guitar, Steve Moore on bass and last but not least, Jamie Alger on Drums.

The music is what it is all about with the band, roadside write and record their own original material, with a few cheeky covers thrown in at gigs for your delight. Influenced by many bands, roadside take their style from the music they love, bands like The Stone Roses, The Verve, Oasis, Primal Scream, and other musicians as well, like Pink Floyd, Stereophonics, Kasabian and of course like every good band, homage should also be paid to The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. roadside immediately started receiving critical acclaim in Plymouth, securing gigs in some of Plymouth’s most fashionable venues, always getting called back for other gigs, including support slots for bands like “The Wonderstuff” when they played in Plymouth. Everything has gone well so far for the band, they have written a collection of songs, which have been described as “a collection of modern classics” by some, and slowly but surely they have built up a great following, with gigs being well attended. Over the last 2 years the gigs have been coming thick and fast, with slots at festivals like Ivylive and Volksfest, as well as gigs all over the South West in places like Newquay, Launceston in Cornwall, Taunton and Bristol in Somerset, as well as gigs all over Plymouth and Devon.

You will see on our media page, interviews with newspapers, magazines and sessions on BBC radio Devon and BBC radio Cornwall as well. 2012 has started busily for roadside, they have now started to be able to get their ideas down in recorded format, with the “LIVE” E.P. available as a limited run at gigs (of which they have over 20 gigs confirmed at the start of 2012 – see our gig listing for more details) as well as an “ACOUSTIC” E.P. to be released shortly for online consumption, as well as recording their charity single “Give it up” at April Recording Studios in Plymouth, under the watchful eye of producer John Carter, as well as being produced by Ross Macenzie from “The Avenue” recordings. The feedback has been really positive from our followers and as such, roadside have been encouraged to record more of there tunes and plan to record an album in the near future. roadside also intend to spread their music, although they are based in Plymouth, roadside will play there tunes any where in the world!

roadside will keep making the tunes, please keep following and supporting us, as this really offers us encouragement, and we will keep trying to offer more and more for you to keep up with......Enjoy, and Much Love, and thanks for taking the time to browse our “new” website.
